PRICELIST WEBCAMGrand Things to DoRetreats - Special Experiences Memories over the Years!!!About UsSerenity Point - Grand Lake, OK |
Lee Oldham grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area where she trained as an R.N. Her bent for adventure lead to an extensive trip to Europe. She started her family while in Alamosa, Colorado while continuing her education. She and Randy now enjoy eight children, which includes their four spouses, and two grandchildren. Lee has found her niche at Serenity Point to be one of adding the decorative touch to the homes so guests feel like they are enjoying someone’s private home. She also is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness for all the homes. Although not employed as a nurse, her time tested supply box is also ready and has come in handy many times even if the need is only for a band aid, or perhaps to remove a fishhook, or to send a recipient on to the local ER. Her love for water sports and passion to share the serenity of the resort makes working as partner of Serenity Point a privilege. Randy Oldham, the older of the two brothers, grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma before going to Enid attending Phillips University to begin his coaching and teaching career in Drummond, Oklahoma. After three years in the public schools he changed fields and starting working for NATCO oil and gas manufacturing and sales company. He worked in the Enid office for 15 years before being moved to Houston, TX office. During the 1980’s Randy and his family would join his brother Bob at Grand Lake for family vacations. They would dream of having a home on the lake and start a business that would allow this dream. During the late 90’s God opened the doors for this dream to come true. NATCO was in a downsizing mode and Randy volunteer for a lay off that went hand in hand with the time that the property that became Serenity Point was on the market. Bob Oldham grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma. Bob was a paper boy for 9 years and spent his childhood years playing basketball and many other outside activities with his friends. Bob loves nature and found his Serenity wherever water and nature existed. Bob still loves to ski, tube, windsurf, sail, snorkel, scuba and anything else that a body of water has to offer! Bob has skied in competitions and performed in many ski shows over the years. Graduated with a Masters Degree from O.S.U. where he coached gymnastics, an open level in racquetball, gave golf lessons, sponsor of both the cheerleaders and O.S.U. ski teams. Bob became a high school physiology teacher and gymnastics coach at Stillwater H.S. and later a professor of Human Anatomy, Health and Wellness at O.S.U. Bob’s lifetime dream of owning and operating a lake resort became a reality with Serenity Point in 1999. Along with Bob’s best friend, Gerry Goodpasture, Bob’s brother Randy and his wife Lee; Serenity Point Resort was created from the combined dreams, a lot of long hours of hard work and God’s hand in every aspect of this very special family resort. Bob’s son, Christian is a big help year around and especially in the summers along with his busy teenage schedule. Gerry Goodpasture grew up in Hennessey, Oklahoma graduating from O.S.U. in 1995 with a degree in English Literature. Although still aspiring to write the next great American novel, he first entered the business world as a graphic designer and art projects manager with Precious Moments, Inc. in Carthage, Missouri. Primarily responsible for designing and managing art related projects for the tourist attraction and product licensing. His interest in direct retailing eventually led to a career with Pier 1 Imports managing stores in Springfield and St. Louis, Missouri and later in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the off-season, Gerry focuses his time on his saltwater aquariums, writing, and painting in acrylics in a style usually termed abstract and often described as “interesting.” You can check out his website at ggoodpasture.com In 2006, Gerry rejoined the Oldhams to operate and expand all that Serenity Point has to offer its great customers.
